What is a day's walk in Wadi Rum like?

The itinerary depends on how many days you decide to stay.

For 2 days, you will have the opportunity to see the most famous places of Wadi Rum such as Um Ushrin, Siq al-Barra, M’Zelgue, the little mushroom, Burdah, Um Fruth, Um M’gour, Rashrash.

You will start the day with a jeep ride to the desert from the village of Wadi Rum. Then you will drive through wide valleys, rocky mountains, narrow and wild canyons and high paths from where you can admire incredible views…

These are our secret paths, where you won’t meet anyone even in the height of the season.

Lunch break

Your second Bedouin guide will be waiting for you at a shady spot with your lunch ready to be enjoyed. After a short nap you will continue your hike until the sun sets, which you can watch from the top of a sand dune or a small rocky hill.

Dinner break

In the evening your guide will be waiting for you at the camp with the smell of a good Mansaff cooking on the campfire. It will be time for you to rest and chat with the guides and other visitors by the fire. The night is spent under the stars in summer or in a tent in winter if it is too cold.

The next morning

You will wake up with the sunrise, after a hearty breakfast you will leave for a second day of hiking.

If you decide to stay 3-4 days you will continue your trekking in the south of Wadi Rum. We will take you to remote places such as Nughra, Wadi Sabet, Dhadha, Um Ratha, El Geder… These beautiful mountains and sand dunes are so close to the border that from some of the peaks you can see the mountains of Saudi Arabia.

If you decide to stay 5 days or more you will have the opportunity to climb some peaks (Burdah Arch, jebel Hash, jebel Um e’ddami).

FAQ

Our visitors range in age from a few months to over 70 years! We adapt to their pace and abilities. As the routes taken often require walking on unstable terrain, it is of course necessary to be able to move around on your own and without equipment.

For babies, parents sometimes choose to come with a folding bed. We advise you to have something to carry your children on your back if you want to go on even short walks.

We also regularly welcome pregnant women and, on the same principle, we adapt to the desired rhythm.
